About me...

I’m Declan and I capture modern life on b&w film.

A self-taught photographer from Cardiff, I’ve been documenting city life, social events, and shooting portraits since 2018 when I was gifted a 35mm camera out of the blue (a Praktica TL1000).

I was soon hooked on the experience of wandering around cities (not unlike a hunter-gatherer), photographing interesting people, and capturing social events that piqued my curiosity.

I place a high value on the positive constraints of the analogue process, so shoot exclusively on film. My commitment to black and white has only deepened over time, as I believe its atmosphere and timeless quality has a unique ability to cut to the heart of things.

My photos have been published by AP Magazine, Radar Magazine, & Docu Mag, and I’m honoured to have been trusted by artists such as Voya to document gigs and behind the scenes moments.
